INVITATION TO THE LED STRATEGY OF SOL PLAATJE MUNICIPALITY (LED UNIT)
The Council of Sol Plaatje Municipality has contracted DEMACON Market Studies to review the current Local Economic Development (LED) Strategy. The aim of review is to align the strategy with new National and Provincial policies, including sector department strategies and other new strategies within Sol Plaatje.
Tender Workshop 2009
The Sol Plaatje Municipality in collaboration Northern Cape Provincial Tender Board will be hosting a comprehensive workshop in the tendering process. This workshop is targets all Affirmative Businesses, S. M. M. E’s, Historically Disadvantaged Individuals (H. D. I), Youth, the Disabled and Women in Business that are based in the Galeshewe Urban Renewal Nodal Area.

In accordance with the Municipal Systems Act (Chapter 5) and Municipal Finance Management Act (Chapter 4), notice is hereby given that the draft Integrated Development Plan (IDP) and Budget for 2009/10 – 2011/12 for the Sol Plaatje Municipality was presented at Council meetings held on 26 March 2009
Public Notice (Application to Formalize Transgression)
The Urban Planning Division of
Sol Plaatje Municipality is inundated with certain
lawlessness which is detected within the built environment of the
Municipality. There is a
tendency by the public to illegally act first and later seek
assistance or approval from
Council. The Council is then expected to ‘rubber stamp’ the illegal
activities as the
perpetrator would have already incurred construction costs.

Invitation for Public Participation in the Draft IDP Review & Budget 2009/10 -2011/12
In
accordance with the Municipal Systems Act (Chapter 5) and the Municipal Finance Management Act (Chapter
4),
notice is hereby given that the draft Integrated Development Plan
(IDP) and Budget for 2008 - 2009 for the Sol Plaatje Municipality
was tabled at a Council meeting held on 31 March 2009. The IDP
informs the Budget as the single inclusive and strategic plan for
the development of the Municipality, which covers what the community
and stakeholder groupings can expect from the Municipality in the
next three years.
Copies of these documents are also available on the Municipality’s website, libraries, Service centres as well as at the Civic centre (Information Counter and Budget Office) for public inspection. Interested parties, local community and stakeholders are invited and urged to submit representations, comments, and inputs regarding the draft IDP and Budget 2009/10 on or before 14 May 2009.
